I work by both hourly rate and per-project bid, depending on the scope of the project and the requirements of the client. Rates vary by type and complexity of project, with my hourly fee currently ranging between $75 and $125/hour. I frequently discount my services on small projects for non-profit and community oriented organizations. Interesting, socially positive and challenging projects generally win out over money when availability is tight. While more money is always good, work that keeps me looking forward to putting in a few hours in the evening is sometimes even better.

Besides extensive hands-on skill in Perl programming, web and database design I can also contribute to requirements gathering and project planning for development projects. I have experience managing in everything from an academic, research driven environment to an multi-national online gaming company.
